I’m taking the plunge.  I’ve been reading but not participating in the January No Buy thread on one of my message boards and have decided to try it out.  This does not mean one can’t spend money in February, it just means that you pay close attention and try not to spend more than you need to spend. You also track every penny so you kow exactly where the cash went. I have sat down and come up with my guidelines for the month because each person makes their own guidelines based on what they want to accomplish.  No need to share what is in your plan/goals unless you want to do so.  My big goals include not to eat out more than one meal a week.  This will prove to be the hard for me I am sure as I like to hit a drive-thru when I am running weekend errands and to stay out of the department stores. Winter clearanace is starting around here so I will need to avoid those sales.  Sure hope I don’t see boots on clearance, that is always hard to resist :)

So check back here throughout the month and see how I do.  Anyone else in?

I have had my iPad for a year now and in that year I have been on a never ending quest for the perfect case.  I carry my iPad with me 90% of the time and am always worried about breaking it so it has stayed in a ugly black “inCase” the entire time while I have searched.

My criteria is simple..lightweight, offer 360 degree protection to the iPad, be stylish (not like what I have now) and if at all possible be multi-functional.  Yes multi-functional would be for the best. You see I have a problem, a problem with clutches and cases.  I simply can’t stand to have everything thrown into the bottom of my tote or purse so I have lots of little clutches to keep everything organized. See:

Top left: small coupon clutch which has all my gift cards and retail store coupons (you never know when you might have the urge to run into Bed, Bath & Beyond so you must carry those coupons with you at all times, my Vera Bradley iPhone wristlet, my actual wallet, and my D & B Mickey case which currently has lotion, 2 chapsticks, a pen, my screen cloth and a nail file.

Usually I also have my makeup clutch as well in the tote bag but this morning I threw it into my gym bag before walking out the door.  This does not include the iPad, multiple folders, notebook, keys, gloves, snacks and whatever else I carry to and from work each day in my tote. Ridiculous I know, but I just can’t seem to leave any of it at home.

Well based on what I saw last night my bag may be getting better organized and lighter at the same time.  While perusing my Google Reader of blogs I follow I stumbled upon this blog post on Geek Sugar: Multitasking in Style with the Happy Owl Studio iPad Clutch. Fun blog by the way

Angels started singing, birds were chirping, fireworks were exploding.. Could it be, have I stumbled upon the perfect case?

as the Happy Owl Studios description states: “Basically, it’s perfect. Not only will it keep your iPad happy, but it will keep you organized too. There are pockets for cash and change, credit cards, business cards, pens, a stylus and a mobile phone. Plus, you’ll still have room in the larger pocket for your lipgloss, sunglasses, passport, keys and more! The Clutch holds everything the modern woman needs on the go.”

Do you think the pocket that holds all the organized stuff will not crush down onto the glass of the iPad and crack it?  It’s not cheap and if I decide to buy it, what color? Black or Red ? (although that looks like burgundy to me).. What would you do??  I need advise here people..
