John has been telling me for weeks his dSLR was not working and wouldn’t take a focused picture.  Today I finally had time to work on it and see what was up.

After checking every setting on the camera to see is something was turned on or off by accident I threw on a few of my better lenses. The result is that the camera is fine, the kit lens is dead.  It’s okay, he needs a better lens than the cheap one that comes with it anyway.

Here is a shot with his dSLR with my good lens on it:

I think it works just fine..  Isn’t Riley cute? :)

I apologize if you pop into my little home on the web and see things not as you are used to seeing them.

I am currently undertaking a major revamp of my site, trying to give it a bit more life and at the same time trying to get everything organized in a simpler manner.  Since there is over two years of blabbing here, it is going to take longer than I would like it to take but what can you do?

As the changes appear let me know what you think, what works, what doesn’t.  I have thick skin so I can take it :)

Hope everything is going well in your world.  Take care!

Now that I am heading back to the world a bit sooner than I thought it is time to put the scrapping of our last trip into high gear or I will be totally behind and never catch up so you will probably see more layouts here than you have seen lately.

While on our cruise aboard the Disney Wonder in December we were able to attend a private concert by Jodi Benson, who is the voice of the Little Mermaid as well as several other Disney characters including Barbie in the Toy Story II and III movies.

She spent about 90 minutes talking and singing her way through her career before, during and still with Disney. We were totally caught up in her tales and I know I will never listen to “Part of Your World” again without thinking a bit deeper about its meaning and how it was recorded.

She allowed both photos and video to be taken during the show which most performers do not do so of course I took advantage of being able to do both and snapped away.  This first layout are shots taken during her performance:

After the show she was suppose to do a meet and greet for 30 minutes.  The response was so large that the lines literally wrapped around the lobby of the Walt Disney Theater and she stayed (without complaint we are told) for almost 2 hours making sure each person was greeted with the same smile and enthusiasm as the first person was.   Here is the layout I did of my friend Brandie and I meeting her.

Background paper from the Under the Sea kit by Minicake Designs
Font is Elizabeth, bubbles by Lyndsay Riches.  I am not sure who made
the topper as I have had it in my stash for a very long time.
Little Mermaid design is the property of the Walt Disney Company.
