I did it.  I told myself I wanted to walk/run a 5k before I turned 50 and I crossed that off the bucket list earlier this month when I completed the Disney Halloween 5k on Oct. 1st.

It was such a great experience because I was able to share it with about 30 of the best friends on the planet.  :) Here we are prior to the start of the run.

It was a early morning 5k, we had to be at the gates of the Animal Kingdom park by 6:00 am for a 7:00 am start. Disney did a great job of getting everyone awake and pumped up and kept everything organized and moving.  I was very impressed.  BTW, look who else was awake at 6:00 am:

And when I say everyone was up and ready to run, I mean the over 5000 folks who ran the 5k.  Look at this craziness (the start line is way up at the front under those lights on the right ) and we aren’t in the very back, there are still hundreds behind us.

I actually planned on running more than I did, but I was having such a great time power walking and chatting it up with my buddy Alicia that we found the power walking to be the better choice (we did run a portion of the race just for the record)..  Isn’t she pretty? I miss her, wish she lived closer.

The 5k without a doubt was one of the highlights of the entire trip for me.  I was able to do something totally new with a great bunch of friends who really do love and support each other.  Every one of us who started the 5k finished it and it was just one more great thing to share with each of them.

I really look forward to doing many more of these races.  I think I have the 5k bug:)  I hope you are tackling your bucket list, your never to young to start…

Here are the rest of the pictures from that fun morning.

I know, I know it has been some time since I blogged.  After we returned from our cruise and WDW Wine and Dine with Friends trip I had ever intention of getting right here and blog away but between the crazy hours I have been putting in at work, John getting sick and now me sick (I currently have laryngitis and a head cold) time slipped away from me.

So lets get started on getting caught up shall we?  John and I had such an amazing vacation.  Our cruise was so wonderful.  The Disney Dream was beyond beautiful.  The designers and Imagineers at DCL really out did themselves! If I had one suggestion though it would be that they use the Dream (and the Fantasy when it comes out next year) as their 7 day ships.  These are big ships with lots to see and do and you really need 7 days to explore it all.  Guess that is how they get us to come back though isn’t it :)

I made a photo video of the ship for those who wish to take a look.

Didn’t I tell you it was amazing?  I can’t wait to get on her sister ship, The Disney Fantasy next October (we are under the 1 yr mark now) and compare the two.

Well that’s it for today.  Very busy Sunday ahead and then a very busy week ahead.  I have a business trip starting Tuesday with a 7:00 am flight and will be gone until Friday night.   Take care !

While at the MK in September we made sure to ride Dumbo and peak over the walls at the construction of the new Fantasyland.

Here is some of the iPhone video I was able to take.

Take care,
