Happy Valentines Day

First, thanks for all the comments on my blah day and my Comfort Food shot.  They were all great to read.  Today was a much better day.  Hopefully I don’t have another blah day for awhile as I really hate them.. LOL

John and I aren’t big on Valentine’s Day… Probably more me then him not into it..

I don’t know why, but it’s never been a big deal to me… I guess I don’t need a special day to know he loves me.  So imagine my surprise when I can home to Roses, a Teddy Bear and chocolates.. He just doesn’t do this usually since he knows I don’t expect it..  I was very surprised to say the least.  I didn’t even know he remembered that V’day was this weekend.   He did ask if Iwas going to shoot them LOL so of course I did…

Hopefully the weather this weekend will hold out and be nice (although we are suppose to get some rain over night tomorrow) so I can get out and shoot.  I really am in the mood to do that.  Otherwise, I plan to just relax and do alot of nothing:)  I hope you have a great day and a wonderful LONG weekend…  Take care

What a romantic guy! Mine doesn’t get me anything either usually. I don’t really care though, I’m happy just spending time together with him and the kids!

Ever have one of those days, when you wake up knowing it’s going to be a blah day…

No reason for it really.. Work was fine, nothing too crazy or hectic, just the same old thing, which in itself didn’t help the blahs.  Nothing at home is wrong, in fact it’s great, but today, it just seemed blah.

Maybe it has just been a long week, maybe it’s that I know we have 2 weeks till WDW, maybe it’s that I know John wouldn’t be home tonite till late.. Not sure the reason(s) but it was just a blah day…

When I have these days I always turn to comfort food, knowing John wouldn’t be home for dinner though, I also didn’t feel like cooking so I whipped up a fast and proven Comfort Food..

Hot Dogs, Chips, Pickles and Diet Coke…. Does it get better than this LOL…

and while it helped, I am still in a blah mood so I am going to sign off and see if I can find something else to maybe change this mood… Hmm Ice Cream perhaps:)

Kindle? I don’t get it!

Can someone please explain to me the draw to this?

Many of the blogs I read are all talking about the new release of Kindle 2 and how cool it is. I just don’t get it.

I love to read and have actually been reading a lot lately but instead of buying a book, I’ve been heading to the library to get my books. After all they are FREE and who doesn’t like free? Except for research type books, I actually can’t tell you the last time I bought a book from a bookstore.

Books, like movies I rarely read a second time so why would I want to carry them around in an electronic devise? I would probably never go back to them and I can’t share them. I also like holding the book, turning the pages, etc. You can’t do that with a Kindle. I like seeing books on a bookshelf (makes me look smart LOL), again can’t do that with the Kindle.

I can understand if say you are a college student and you can purchase all your books online at a lower price and if you need to carry those books around with you. They are after all, usually very heavy and by having them electronically you safe your back as well as have the convenience of having them all together for reference and such. I could see it if you use say a cookbook all the time, you could just open it up and there are your favorite recipes but other than this I don’t get it. A great user may be someone in the medical field that would have a need to reference materials and books all the time but I’m just a everyday person.

I will admit it is very cool looking, and I do like electronic toys so tell me why I would want one? What’s the draw I am missing?  Come on see if you can enable me here LOL

I wanted to share two pictures that I shot on the way home from work.. Basically, it’s all about timing on these two.  If I hadn’t left work when I did, I wouldn’t have been driving by the river just as this sunset was happening… Maybe I should leave work on time more often:)

Lastly, thanks for all the comments on yesterday’s picture of Paihe.  I will be going back and seeing what I can do to adjust the contrast and post the results here.  I tried real quickly last night but it wasn’t very successful..

I am with you on the whole Kindle/electronic book thing. I LOVE the physicality of having a book in my hands, and feeling the pages turn, feeling the heft and weight of the words and story between the covers, even the smell of the pages. Why would I want that stored on some cold electronic medium that won’t work if I run out of batteries or forget to charge it? A book ALWAYS works–you just open the pages and fall in.
LOVE that first sunset shot. What gorgeous colors!!

I don’t have a kindle but read eBooks on my iPod Touch. I like having books with me where ever I go. And I can read one handed.

Add me to the “I don’t get it” list! I have yet to read anything about the Kindle that makes me think, “I MUST HAVE ONE!” LOL. I’m the same way about books, I love the feel of the pages and the smell of the ink! And having lots of them on the shelf makes me feel smart. ;)

I’ve never seen a Kindle in person, but have often wondered about them. I stopped buying books a couple of years ago, the library is my friend! I think to buy the books on Kindle is expensive too, like a minimum of $10.

Yeah, I don’t get the hype, either. I only know of one person who has the kindle, my 20-some old neighbor, who is a computer programmer. His wife bought him one because he loves electronic gadgets.

I don’t get Kindles either. I love gadgets, but they’re expensive! And they really aren’t books. And books for the Kindle aren’t cheap. I use to read lots of books on my Palm Pilot, only when I was ready the actual book at home, and had a way of getting the palm pilot version for free, to read at work. But I love writing in my books. . . . I’ve never even seen someone actually have a Kindle, so I wonder who’s buying enough of them to create Kindle 2? I love your sunset photo!
