Here is a second view of Pony Pasture along the James River here in Richmond. This weekend being a holiday, these rocks will be covered with folks picnicking and sun bathing. With the water levels so low there are no restrictions on swimming right now so everyone will take full advantage of this great area of the river.

HDR processed in Photomatix from 3 raw files. Taken hand held.

Maybe I will try to head down this way again myself over the weekend.  Have a wonderful evening.  Take care!

I started dabbling a little in HDR, I certainly don’t think I would use it all the time and it can be over applied very easily but sometimes I think it really can add to a photo.

With that said, I took this shot of the City of Richmond and the James River on my way home from work one night last week.  I then applied a slight HDR effect using Photomatix and that was all.  I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  Does it work in your opinion? Comments??

I am still working on learning the proper HDR techniques and thought that this would be a good subject. I don’t really know what the name of the area is where this barn is located but since it is in an empty field across from Osborne Landing Boat ramp near my house I just always call it the Osborne Landing barn. In the photos below this is the same barn in both shots, the road curves as you drive away which allows for multiple angle shots, without even getting out of the car haha. I shot both angles 4 times at different F-stops, hand held and then took it into Photomatix to process. So what do you think? Anyway I can improve? Is it over-processed in either shot? Thanks for commenting and helping me learn.
